"Home is where one starts from. As we grow older the world becomes stranger, the pattern more complicated of dead and living. Not the intense moment, isolated, with no before and after, but a lifetime burning in every moment. And not the lifetime of one man only, but of old stones that cannot be deciphered." ----- T. S. Eliot, 1888-1965 "Four Quartets, East Coker" (1940)

What a great iconic picture! Her hair style is so typical of the time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful photo! They make such a lovely couple.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first picture I have seen of Buddy's father. Thanks for sharing. The dress is a maternity dress, wonder if it was for Rose or Buddy?
ReplyDeleteLinda, I put circa 1943 thinking it could be anywhere from 1942 to 1944 so as to which child she's pregnant with is hard to tell. Too bad it doesn't have a specific date. I'm guessing it was Buddy though.
ReplyDeleteMike looks like his Mother, Buddy looks like his Father. Thanks for sharing the photo. (The dress appears to be a maternity dress.)
