"Home is where one starts from. As we grow older the world becomes stranger, the pattern more complicated of dead and living. Not the intense moment, isolated, with no before and after, but a lifetime burning in every moment. And not the lifetime of one man only, but of old stones that cannot be deciphered." ----- T. S. Eliot, 1888-1965 "Four Quartets, East Coker" (1940)

What a beautiful high school picture! Mine is from three years earlier. We HAD to have them taken in our uniforms in black and white. I love yours.
ReplyDeleteKathy, you must have gone to private school to have had to wear uniforms. This is the one photo I have that really shows the true color of my hair, which I hated. I bleached it back to the color I was born with right out of high school which was a white blonde (a tow head). But, my mom got aggravated with seeing my roots and insisted I "put it back". When I tried to do that, I guess it picked up red highlights and everyone started saying I had red hair. I looked and looked but it didn't appear red to me. Finally, I decided to really make it red and have been red ever since. I am often shocked at the amount of gray roots I have now, LOL! Everyone says I have the right coloring and look like a natural redhead. Maybe that's because my great grandmother was a redhead.
DeleteBeautiful portrait! I was Class of 1970, too.

Lovely photo!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo!!
ReplyDeleteLisa, it's a beautiful photograph, and you were very beautiful -- but I think you're even lovelier now. Your smile is more vibrant. And yes, the red hair suits your complexion.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! Here's another hand up for "Class of 70"
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the nice comments ladies! Kudos to the Class of 70 group, we ROCK! LOL!
ReplyDeleteLovely picture cuz. You look like Miss Prim and Proper. LOL I know better. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, cousin Dave...while I was never Miss Prim and Proper, I was a pretty good kid in high school. After that...well, maybe not so much, LOL! But, I think I'm a pretty good egg now so all's well that ends well! Love you cuz!
DeleteLove you too very much and miss seeing you. Family counts. Especially the living ones!
